Fell into the WebRTC rabbit hole over the last week. Got a plan for a future feature now.

What great timing for Indigo to launch. My Ivory subscription was coming up to renewal 😂. Switched over now.

Playing with a fourth option for cameras. Still unsure what I’ll release in the end but it’s a fun technical challenge to learn how to connect and get each camera stream type on screen.

And based on asking other indies, it’s not worth your time or money to do. 😂 https://mastodon.online/@9to5Mac/116569530451827537

Spent a few hours on the pairing screens today. Getting closer to something I am liking.

It might be time in this development cycle of HomeCam for the Camera Wall™️ to return.

Using Codex to build debugging views that otherwise would never be built is nice.

Playing with a trackpad design for pan and tilt control, getting stymied by my test cameras moving on the X axis, then Y, not both at once. Why accept both on a continousMove command if they won’t do it at the same time?

Wish this style of pan and tilt control would work, but given a lot of cameras don’t support running both directions at once with their motors, it’s not really suitable.

Trying to define how camera dashboards should work over multiple platforms is not simple. You can’t have a dashboard look the same on an iPhone as an iPad, let alone a TV. What layouts should be supported, what features within it, and whether to do progressive enhancement?

Starting to use Codex to generate development tools more and more. The latest is a way to generate dashboard layouts easily for HomeCam 3. Still a work in progress and some behaviours and features in this tool may not ship ever.

After waiting a week for review of a simple bug fix for HomeCam on Mac. I get this bullshit rejection. Can't show a demo video for pairing as the Mac cannot do that. And this app has been out on the Mac for years... why the sudden demo request.
