So Linus showed his entire ass ( again, if you've been paying attention in the last twenty years, but for some reason this one really got noticed ), and now I keep seeing people talking about building weird #NetBSD / Debian hybrids, how Devuan was trying that, and You know you can just run NetBSD right? No need to loot it for replacement parts, it's a stable modern OS that works fine exactly as it is. Putting the GNU userland on top of it will be a lot of work to catch up with what it...

For my own sadistic entertainment, I built a tarpit that catches web crawlers, compete with statistics reporting just so I can watch them flail around in there. Amazon has a crawler for "enabling Alexa to answer even more questions" which has generated over six million hits since I noticed it That smells like LLM to me, so .... I just added a Markov babbler. Alexa, meet Markov. I'm sure you'll be fast friends. https://ircz.us/maze

*KICKS DOOR DOWN* Hey everyone! Hate AI web crawlers? Have some spare CPU cycles you want to use to punish them? Meet Nepenthes! https://zadzmo.org/code/nepenthes This little guy runs nicely on low power hardware, and generates an infinite maze of what appear to be static files with no exit links. Web crawlers will merrily hop right in and just .... get stuck in there! Optional randomized delay to waste their time and conserve your CPU, optional markovbabble to poison large language models.
