Bought a Chinese music player that only recognizes a line in if it is the 3 ring mic version, absurdly. Now I have to use an adapter from quarter inch to 3.5mm 2 ring followed by an adapter from 3.5mm 2 ring to 3.5mm 3 ring. There don't appear to be more direct adapter solutions, because it's a retarded use case.
