  If I believe my iPhone weather app, Newport has a worse AQI than Portland this morning. It says 153 here, not sure where it’s measured, though a Purple Air map shows one at 134. I should get a sensor, weather is very local here (like by the block), and it’s super hazy, but I don’t smell smoke. The sunrise picture sure shows it though. #orwx #newportoregon #oregoncoast

  Reward for being at the airport this early. And for the predictable being unable to sleep well because an early alarm was set. I’m off to #boston for work this week, then am taking 3 days off at the end of next week. I really need to reset, rest, sleep, and convince my body and brain that a high workload does not mean I need to be in flight or fright mode all the time.

  Had a few hours to spare before I fly home late this afternoon, so I walked from my Cambridge hotel to Harpoon Brewing via every pier I could go down. Turned a 3 mile walk into a 5.5 scenic route. Enjoying a classic Harpoon IPA before I need to get back to my hotel to head out. #beer #boston

  Two things it took conscious thought to do - realized I could afford the time to actually have a beer at Harpoon if I got a Lyft back to my hotel vs walking back (Harpoon doesn’t open til noon and I had time constraints). Funny it didn’t occur to me at first that I could do anything but walk back. And I actually had a beer indoors unmasked. Rare for me to do that, but Covid levels are at 5 year lows and the beer hall was tall and airy and uncrowded, having just opened.

  Rainy day here + I saw there’s a clothing swap next weekend at the Newport Rec Center = finally motivated to clean out my closet. I don’t need any clothing in the swap, but will donate things that I clearly don’t wear. Everything came out, got evaluated, shelves cleaned, and donations getting laundered. #newportoregon
