My cousin: So, what are you doing at EIT now? Me: Well... uh... I'm sort of like a Shakespearian Henchman to one of the main characters. My Cousin: So digging graves and carrying luggage and stuff? Me: Yeah, and sometimes I get a comic monologue that's actually quite ribald if you understand the four humours

Sometimes — such as when it's being explained to me that OBVIOUSLY they couldn't have put their dirty dishes away in the dishwasher because it's currently filled with *clean dishes?* — I wonder if there's an easier way to do all this.

Me: And are the ordinary hardworking kiwis in the room with us now? NACT: Yes! Well no. Not in this *actual* room. But they're out there! I see them all the time! They talk to me! Me: i see *makes note on pad* NACT: What did you just write? Me: Don't worry about it.

Another three hours of fireworks last night, the second night of Guy Fawkes, as everyone with pets or babies or who was trying to listen to music will know. But, of course, it is those of us who want to ban public sales who are the actual fun ruiners. #guyfawkes #banpublicfireworks
