    The Waugh Drive bridge over Buffalo Bayou in Houston is a nesting site for hundreds of thousands of bats. I will make this my evening walk as long as I feel well enough. Hawks patrol overhead and poach a few.

    Folk get tripped up with the …zinger at the end of my last name, and inasmuch as I have had to give it out a lot lately I have low key pronounced it ‘…nigga’ twice. Not an eyebrow or “come again?” on either!

    Before cancer treatment, during routine checks, the cardio doc asked about things. With John C’s experience fresh on my mind I mentioned heart flutters and occasional pains. A few tests later and I soon had four stents and another scheduled after cancer treatment. One artery 100% blocked, four 70-90%. My blood pressure from 160/120 to 115/90.     Going into the last three days of radiation and chemo and I honestly underestimated how sick I would feel. No taste buds and nausea combined to losing twenty pounds.

    I never stopped inside the Jungian center on the way to MD Anderson for treatment. No idea what archetypes these symbolize.
