Tonight I had roast beef that had been cooked for 8 hours in a slow cooker. In with it were carrots and potatoes and onions and gravy. I know that cooking with hot peppers or spices is wrong and that that should be added at the table. That said... it tasted... Bland. So... I was wondering... what if I added to the cooker for 8 hours... maybe... 4-5 cups of chopped plantains? It might add a sort of sweetness. Maybe...?
