  The (current) heat wave put on end to Peak Blackberry. I picked enough for a week of cereal and yogurt topping, but it took a while. I might try to hit a few spots and get enough for another pie, or a gallette.

  Old clothes dropped off. They might end up as rags, or insulation, or shipped to Africa in huge bales, were industrious people repair and modify them for reuse. The latter is a fascinating process.

  This morning's wildlife spotting: Three good-sized, lanky coyotes, crossing the road from one office park to another as Daphne barked lustily at them. The last in line stopped to look at us. Curiosity? Defiance? It didn't move on until a landscaping truck approached it.

  Scored a "2 Good 2 Go" package from Whole Foods. They usually get snagged within minutes of being posted. $7 for queso, guac, salsa, tortillas, ramen, and a package of beyond beef. Taco night, I guess!

  Starting celebration of my 9th Retirement-a-Versary at the dentist, getting three replacement crowns cemented in. I'd do a road trip with the dog after that, but it is going to be hot today. Sometimes I resent having taken on care of a creature that can't travel for a good chunk of the year.
