• Why are there advertisements on Boost (a Lemmy app)?

  I did the one-time payment to have no ads, but why are there ads by default on it?

• Is there a way to make posts to my own profile?

  I know that on Reddit, you can post to your own profile. I mostly ask because I’d like to write an “about me” post for anyone seeing my page.
