Anyone else notice or have issues where ping.exe on Windows 10/11 behavior appears to be buggy these days. If I ping an address known to be offline. On both Linux and Unix, I correctly get 100% packet loss. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ PING 192.168.0.2 (192.168.0.2) 56(84) bytes of data. @Viss@mastodon.social @wdormann@infosec.exchange I feel the same way about quantum computing and Shor's algorithms. I mean there might be real gains, albeit very small, but its hidden by the overhyped experiments where they stack the deck with binary trickery and Endian-ness to compute an insane number. Everyone proceeds to wet their pants over the imminent Qday with the reality not yet exceeding factoring two digits.

A friendly reminder to never trust manufacturers privacy protections. I was recently attempting to get an external camera functioning, so I started polling various video devices sequentially to find out where it appeared and stumbled across a previously unknown (to me at least) camera device, right next to the regular camera that is not affected by the intentional privacy flap or &quot;camera active&quot; LED that comes built in.
