If all of the various news and or aggregated feeds in my life could stop sending me notifications about dying children, that’d be great. It really fucks up my mental health.

The first pet my wife and I ever got passed away today. For just shy of 10 years she was the best cuddler, even if she was abrasive the rest of the time. For a long time before we had our first kid she had a bedtime routine where she’d follow us to our room and cuddle before politely asking to be let out. In the morning there’d always be a present of socks she’d “caught” for us waiting outside our door.

You may know that Lewis Carroll’s “Through The Looking Glass” plays out a game of chess between the lines. Does anyone know any other good examples of a meta-narrative like this? I’d love to see a story that draws out a cooking recipe.
