Spent a disasterous day in garden today. it had rained entire day yesterday. I didn't realize that grass had become slippery with so much rain. that coupled with old shoes with worn out sole meant I ended up twisting my ankle of my right foot. so I am going to be icing it and staying off it for next 2-3 days. being only person in family that drives means there is going to be lots of ordering stuff in next 2-3 days. Oh well... I suppose I should be glad it wasn't worse than just a twist.....

@birdofwood@mastoart.social @tito_swineflu@sfba.social Fair point. we each choose tools that best help us deliver the outcome. Although I love restoring vintage tools ( both handtools as well as powertools ), with arthiritis in both my thumb joints, I use less handtools and more powertools. I use CAD and 3d modelling software to design my projects or atleast try to ... although in many cases I tend to wing it. CNC is just another tool in a woodworker's arsenal. it hasn't replaced desig...

Both me and my wife suffer from Plantar Fasiatis ( sp? ). Completing that outfeed table has been really hard on my feet and wife also has been having pain along the side of her leg with all the work she has been doing in garden. so today we decided to stop procrastinating and went and bought ourselves nice comfy sneakers. And boy have we been kicking ourselves for not doing this sooner! We went for Bondi 9 shoes from Hoka and it's like walking on cloud! Really should have done this sooner. I...

Vegetable garden has done well this year. but we are seriously running out of space. our lot just isn't big enough to do justice to both flowers and vegetables. But eating food that grew literally few feet from kitchen is much better than buying days old produce from big commercial farms. 1/2 #vegetables #vegetablegardening

Finally first coat of finish is on the outfeed/ assembly table. 2 or 3 more costs and then wax should be enough to protect from inevitable glue spills. #woodworking

This dude decided to be cheeky and knock on the window to let us know that one of the feeders is empty. This was early in the morning and although there was faint smell of smoke sky hadn't turned full sepia yet. I couldn't take picture when he started knocking as I didn't have my phone on me and by the time i grabbed the phone, he had turned his back on us #finches #birdphotography

I had a friend that I worked with for couple of decades. when I moved on to my current job, we kept in touch thru facebook. I was so used to seeing his posts few times day. he was fairly active politically and had strong opinions. loved vintage cars. And every birthday of mine he would annoy me by posting some really goofy picture of me. Mid June I realized that I hadn't seen a post from him in a few days so I posted on his wall asking him how he was doing. turns out reason he hadn't pos...

I love it when kids come to visit because that means my wife relaxes the rules a little and I get to eat food I am otherwise not allowed to eat...like lots of rice. I am still trying to keep my weight and A1C within limits. But today she made absolutely awesome chicken biryani and let's just say I am going to have to walk it off for atleast an hour or so. #foodporn #biryani #rice

On 26th, we had to take Mia to emergency hospital because she refused to eat. next day they discovered aggressive large cell lymphoma in her abdomen at two different places. just week prior to that she had had ultrasound at her normal vet's clinic where nothing untoward was found. so needless to say we were shocked. it is unfortunately inoperable due to it's aggressive nature, size and location. exactly week ago today we brought her back home and have decided to make her last da...
