What does Trump think “Thank you for your attention to this matter” means? Did he hear it somewhere and think “Ooh, that sounds grown-up!”? It’s sounds like something you might use to close-off a “To whom it concerns” letter.

RE: https://mastodon.online/@globalmuseum/116665800421319122 Pretty high on the list of “Jobs that won’t be replaced by AI”… Fascinating to see them binding the pieces of stone together by pouring in molten metal reinforcing.

As a bird person, this insurance ad really annoys me. In the TV version, the little bird's nest is washed away, and the big bird turns up to rescue the little bird and its egg and carry them to a new nest. My problem is - that's a raptor! Look at that beak! It's made for tearing flesh. The little bird and its egg? Just more protein! Maybe flesh-eating-predator-pretending-to-be-friendly is actually a good representation of an insurance company...

RE: https://social.jvns.ca/@b0rk/116681217923633867 Conclusive proof that the Fediverse has been monitoring not just what I say, but what I think, and then uses that to shape the content it feeds me. I was thinking about “big endian” JUST YESTERDAY, and here we are. An excellent application of intrusive surveillance to shape my feed towards topics that will be more to my interest. Thank you, John Mastodon, I love you.

Interesting report on Formosan gem-faced civets (白鼻心 /Paguma larvata taivana)increasingly being found in Taipei. The report mentions sightings in the Da’an, Wenshan and Beitou Districts. We’ve also seen reports elsewhere of sightings in National Taiwan University campus. On the list to try to spot one… #taiwan #台灣 #台北 #taipei https://news.ltn.com.tw/news/life/breakingnews/5446093
