Grabbed a roll of coconut matting for the bees and other insects in preparation for next week's hot weather. Along with some medium sized stones in a tray, it will make a good watering station for them while minimizing the chance of drowning. I'll make up a large batch of slightly weaker sugar water for the hummingbirds and replace it more often than usual.

The duo have been outside roasting together on a deck chair all day. They came in for a nibble and some water, Cheese had a bit of coconut oil. Shorty has stayed cool inside on a shelf.

I've tweaked the color and lighting because I couldn't get a good picture of him. He's been losing fur again, and it's obvious that he's sensitive in some areas. It's not as bad as it's been in the past, but he's on that path. You can see the bare patch on his back leg. There are others on his sides that are sensitive. #CatAllergy

Cleaned litter boxes by spraying them with a weak bleach and detergent solution. Wowzers. That was a hell of a combination. I won't be able to smell anything until tomorrow.

Mac was at about my knees when I decided to grab him by the knape of the neck and pull him a little closer. It would have worked fine, he didn't struggle at all. However, my body decided to have a moment and cramp up somewhere in my midsection that shouldn't get cramps, and he bailed.

One of the reasons people on the left talk about fuel prices is because this is a big go to for the righties. I asked a neighbor about it, he was silent. Told him I didn't want to hear him talk about it ever again. He moved the conversation to another topic. Those talks can have lasting effects.

I've recommended this book a dozen times on here, and am doing it again. I haven't read his latest essay on the bunker because I can guess and it's too depressing at the moment.

McCarthy only got as far as he did because of a complicit media. Still, can you think of anyone comparable to Murrow in the last couple of decades?

I've been on a Swedish murder mystery kick. Picked up The White Lotus to change things up and bailed after 15 minutes. Spring Tide is what I'm starting tonight. I don't even notice the accent anymore.

Julie DiCarlo published a block list of all the reporters at the dinner tonight. I can't access it because I'm not a bluesky member. Be nice if there was one floating around over here.
