  RE: https://mastodon.cloud/@slashdot/117039751638258681 So many of my former coworkers - most already forced onto projects they didn’t choose and forced to spend time commuting through traffic to a half empty office where all they do is sit on Zoom calls to other remote offices - are now anxiously waiting to hear if they are going to be out of a job entirely. 😥 Nobody deserves to be treated as a number in an acquisition spreadsheet. 😢

Huge props to Jeff from JDK Furnace & Heating who spent over 3 hours he didn’t have to spare in the afternoon finding a solution so we were able to start cooling down and get some sleep last night. It was 32.5C in my office (which Pansy, my 20+ year old blind cat refuses to leave) and I had been giving her ice water...

  Haven't had much time to play due to traveling, but I've got my Iksar necromancer/druid to level 7 so far in #EverQuestLegends. Kind of amazing how much knowledge is coming back after so many years. Highly pleased I remembered how to pet pull so I didn't get Dorn B'Dynn coming after me here! 😁 Also remembering how fear kiting works (necro/druid combo is clearly strong here)... also remembering that Iksar get an XP penalty and are KOS everywhere, which in retrospect was maybe sta...

  Gotta say I have never seen so many people what I can only describe as AGGRESSIVELY dressing in Canadian red and white colours and flags on Canada Day this year. Like, 80-90% of people I saw downtown yesterday. Even a few walking around wearing flags as capes. I asked my dad if it was always like this and he said no, it’s just since Trump.

  Visiting the parents this week and realizing this is the first time I’ve visited Ontario in high summer for probably decades. I have lived in Australia, Brazil, and California but Ontario summers remain the worst. Very much do NOT miss this 99% humidity. 🫠
