From reporting at the count Off to McDonald's Our Local Democracy Reporter Declan Carey says a few Labour councillors have just nipped out of Co-op Live, and headed to the nearby McDonald's. He says it's a good sign that a result might be further off than we think. It's believed that the count in Wigan is holding things up. That being the case, I'm just off to do a quick top up shops, back in 20-30 mins.

Currently 71F in our street in Manchester with humidity up to 70%. Just in time for my top up shop shortly.

Local Tesco seems to have a problem with warm weather. Their fridges always stop working. On Friday, I estiate 90% were out of order. Iceland, round the corner, has no such problems.

Government need to introduce PR now, to give the Electoral commission time to draw up new PR based constituencies to keep Deform and other extremists from gaining a majority and completely destroying our country overnight.

Local election spending allowed at current elections is £960 and 8p per elector. That's to cover everything in a local election. We have just under 16,000 living in the ward, with over 12,000 electorate.

Starmer claiming he didn't know...over Mandleson. People have long memories and Starmer was told for months about Mandleson before his appointment. So Starmer can't say he didn't know. Sounds like he was wilfully blind and deaf.

In the 1970s, Manchester had a fleet of Electric buses that ran around the city centre every few minutes. They were based at Queens Road Depot in Cheetham Hill. They ran from the top of the ramp at Piccadilly Station (where 59 also terminated) to the side of Victoria Station. Initial cost per journey was 2p. This at the Manchester Transport Museum shows the price as 12p.
