@philipdrobar Hi fellow Vancouver game maker! Thanks for all your work on cogito. I'm thinking about using it in a game jam and wondering if you know whether it'll work well in a html5 export?

RE: https://mastodon.social/@PadraigOCinneide/116433466223819598 Our game came in #15 (of 211) in the community voting. Pretty good!

I think I'll go back to the Godot Wild Jam next time. The main attraction of Comfy Jam was the 2 week duration, but I realized that I don't want to make games that are "cozy" as their core thing. Also there was more interesting game dynamic experimentation happening in #GodotWildJam entries.

Occupying the most irritating possible position of thinking Blender should be able to take the money in principle, but _also_ that it should have been obvious to anyone not living under a rock that it would be a disaster to do so in practice

Blender is my favourite piece of software. I've contributed code to it, been paid to build things with it, made art projects for my classes. I'm in awe of it as an example of excellent user interface for a complex professional tool. I really can't get that worked up that some tiny part of Anthropic's money is now supporting #Blender development. It's okay. I also realized that if I'm going to insist on having opinions, I should offer support too,...

I got it in my head to try making an Unpacking game sometime, but I don't wanna draw it in pixels. I started thinking about what strengths 3D modelling has for a game like that, and I've got: dynamic lighting and rotation. So, I put together a test scene in Blender to see what a slight scene rotation on mouse movement would feel like — I like it!

🧶 Here's a little gameplay video of my new Beat Knit game. It's free on my itch page and is definitely the most fun game I've ever made. Original music, art and code. https://padraigk.itch.io/beat-knit #GameDev #IndieDev

Apple released iOS 18.7.3 which closes the DarkSword exploit but they are refusing to make it available for phones which have the capability to run iOS 26.

I worked on this for my Colour Theory class at Emily Carr. Pretty happy with how it came out. Maybe these characters will make it into my next #gamejam #art

Absolutely unhinged project I sniped myself into yesterday: A #swift → #GDScript transpiler There's a watcher running in the background that generates the file on the right on save.
