Vandaag is het 150 jaar geleden dat de voormalige slaafgemaakten in &quot;de west&quot; eindelijk vrij waren. Maar niet gelijk. Die ongelijkheid werkt nog steeds door tot vandaag de dag. Daarom zou 1 juli een nationale feestdag moeten worden. Trouwens, in delen van &quot;de oost&quot; duurde de slavernij nog gewoon tot in de 20e eeuw... In Nederlands Indië werd de slavernij al in 1860 afgeschaft, maar semi-zelfstandige sultanaten onder Nederlands bewind mochten het zelf bepalen...
