Māori trolling lure
collections.tepapa.govt.nz/object/108424 Pā kahawai are trolling lures designed to attract and hook large surface-feeding fish, such as kahawai (Arripis trutta). Adapted from Polynesian trolling lures, pā kahawai are composite lures typically constructed using a ground and shaped pāua (New Zealand abalone) shell lure set in a wooden shank with a bone barb fixed at the base and bound tightly with muka (flax fibre) cord.

When I was working I would take a square plastic clip box with a selection of prepped veg in it, plus one of those square ramen blocks and seasoning. Add boiling water and five minutes later you have a tasty hot meal.

It must be incredibly useful for blind people, but for everyone else it’s a pure wank.
