@JamesDBartlett3 @KimCrayton1 This distinction is so important. When I was in school, many decades ago, I learned about slavery, but the actual horror of it never percolated because the term “the slaves” was used as if they were a different species whose so purpose was picking cotton.

@vagina_museum Rebecca Skloot’s book The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks was superb! I read it in three days. It was so fascinating I could hardly put it down. The spine of that book faces me when I am sitting in this chair. Other favorite books occupy pride of place on that convenient shelf!

Innocently opened my front door and was instantly stung by a wasp!⚡️🦟⚡️Right next to my watch band! So much for getting much done today. Even though I slathered it immediately with Medicinal Clay, my wrist HURTS! Anyone else have any home remedies they can recommend!

@cynblogger Reminds me of what a friend said to me years ago. “Artichokes are an excuse to eat mayonnaise.”

Took four books I read back to my library and picked up five more to read. Started with a fun one set in my home State of Colorado. Always love it when an author mentions places I am familiar with. #Bookstodon

Two days after getting stung by that wasp and I can finally buckle my watchband in the normal place. The swelling in my arm was remarkable! I waited until after sundown that night and sprayed a jet of water on their nest. I got rid of most of the wasps. A few scary scouts fly by on occasion.🦟
