Good morning. โ˜บ๏ธ This is a #silentsunday, #stonecircle & #standingstonesunday from a while ago. This is the Druid's Circle or Maen Hirion, & is located above the village of #Penmaenmawr. Driving up a dangerously narrow lane to the carpark is scary but the views are definitely worth it. Some say that this may be the remains of a long lost Bronze Age landscape known linked to Dinas Affaraon. An ancient city that Ceridwen may have visited & seek the wisdom & magic of nature....

Oh, do not tell the Priest our plight, Or he would call it a sin, For we have been out in the woods all night, A-conjuring Summer in! And we bring you news by word of mouth, Good news for cattle and corn, Now is the Sun come up from the South, By Oak, and Ash, and Thorn! Sing Oak and Ash and Thorn, good souls, All of a Midsummer's morn, Surely we sing of no little thing, In Oak and Ash and Thorn! ~ Rudyard Kipling, excerpt from A Tree Song โ˜€๏ธ/|\โ˜€๏ธ

I have just been looking around my SM platforms and noticing the tirade of anti LGBTQ comments almost everywhere nowadays. I know this isn't new. Most commenters proudly show their own colours or badges of allegiance as if we should be frightened into submission by their ill informed and generally irrelevant issuings... There is much noise about why Pride exisits, yada, yada. I came across a handy little visual earlier with simple words and phrases for the homophobes to be able to read....

We are off to the Malvern Flower Show tomorrow. ๐ŸŒธ They call it a festival nowadays, and it incorporates lifestyle stuff such as cooking demonstrations & other such nonsense. It was much better when it was just a flower show. Why do folk have to mess with things? Anyhoo, many of our favourite specialist nurseries will be there to tempt us. I will probably end up buying far too many plants, but you are only fabulous once & those plants need me to take care of them... Hones...

Having worked at a few large garden centres and being responsible for buying the plants, I got to visit some amazing nurseried all over the UK. And with this privilege came the chance to procure some quite rare things. Here is a very rare rhododendron called Hawk that is still growing in my mother's garden. It is classed as a dwarf, however it is now over 8 feet tall and around 30 years old. It has amazing waxy primrose yellow flowers held in bunches and glossy green leaves.

Rhododendron Jean Marie Du Montague is probably my favourite red rhody in the garden. Rh, Half Dan Lem is also a good doer but JMDM is neater in habit and flowers a week or so earlier.

Hosta Lake Superior is such a beautiful thing. A seedling from Mary Chastain's fabulous breeding programme. One of the largest hostas we have but kept at bay in a pot for now. This reminds me of a cuttlefish being all wibbly in warm tropical seas.

Mari Mathias and her band were amazing. โ˜บ๏ธ They are in tour and will be at the Muni in Pontypridd tomorrow and Y Galeri in Friday in Caernarfon. Next week, they will be in Aberystwyth on the 6th, Wrexham on the 7th, Swansea in the 8th and Ystradgynlais on the 9th. I bought a limited edition gatefold double album and the CD version. The @druid@toot.wales and moi both love her new album. โ˜บ๏ธ

Happy May Eve to those who celebrate. Tonight is one of a few ysbryd nos or spirit nights when the veil between this world and the other ones is so thin that you poke your little witchy fingers through it. Another, more well known one is All Hallow's Eve. You could dress up, or down and dance with the gayest of gay abandon around the Coelcerth or sacred fire. Or you could just have a nice cup of tea and marvel at the glorious bounty of the natural world. Whatever works for you. Enjoy!...

Everything in the garden is now bursting into life. This is a rhododendron that I must have bought around 10 years ago as a very small plant. It is called Berg's Yellow and these are the first flowers. I am hoping that it is going to be a clear and strong yellow. I have another one growing on called Golden Coach which I used to have but sadly died many years ago now. No flowers yet. My 'go to' yellow for small gardens is one called Nancy Evans, so we'll see which has more...

Good evening. I have spent the day in our offices on an exhausting and overwhelming training course, and my brain is now fried. And I have to do the same thing again tomorrow... A few years ago, I was lucky enough to buy some bulbs of a #daffodil called Teal that really glows in the evening light. This photo is from a few years back but illustrates the point nicely. โ˜บ๏ธ
