I'm trying to adopt a healthier social media balance. In that effort I've been closing out of the infinite scrollers (TikTok, Insta, YouTube Shorts) the moment I get fed something that I do not enjoy or is an ad. So far I'd say it's working quite well ๐

Having some friends come over today. I've made a few fun brain ticklers to throw in our new Pick a Topic jar. Wonder how it will go ๐

The biggest realization I've had game prep is that all the tips I read need to be adjusted to work for me and my table. I love @slyflourish style of "lazy" GM prep, but figuring out it's most useful to me if I add some additional details it doesn't call for took me WAY too long to get. #TTRPG

@pipapogames just put out the demo for Map Map, a Game About Maps & I'm in love. It's the mapmaking game I've always yearned for! Step counting, landmarks, penciling on notes, complex geography. No joke I think I might cry this is so cool ๐ญ. Stopped on island 5 to wait for launch. If exploring islands and finding treasures using your own orienteering skills sounds fun you NEED to try this. https://store.steampowered.com/app/2702260/Map_Map__A_Game_About_Maps/...

That feeling of time pressure on a weekend when you have stuff you want to get done really sucks. On the plus side I'm getting better at ignoring it.

Okay does anyone know the craziness that is the lore of the gummi bears? Was re-watching Crown of Candy and they made a joke about them. Ended up explaining the show to my fiancee. From memory though it went insanely deep. 1/3

I just read a bumper sticker that said "There is Power in the Blood of Jesus" and realized how much that sounded like some rumor you'd stumble on in a #TTRPG game. "You are not strong enough to fight the Dark Lord, but within the blood of the Jesus, you'll find the power."

Luke Humphris' new #TTRPG is now live on kickstarter. It looks neat and I think I'm jumping on board. Also, I literally just got the dam pun ๐คฆโโ๏ธ When Society Collapsed: Dam Nation https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/whensocietycollapsed/when-society-collapsed-dam-nation-a-tabletop-rpg?ref=android_project_share

If you think about it it's actually quite remarkable how you can effortlessly transition from walking forwards to walking backwards and then back again. Like that is surprisingly complicated coordination that we just take for granted. #ShowerThoughts

Why is staging consistently productive so hard? Like I'm not even talking about highly or very productive. Just a steady "chipping away at it" is a challenge sometimes.
