  I think I've got a mostly reliable link into the #meshCore ... mesh ... now Doing some basic tests it doesn't seem that reliable to get a message home from around town, which is kinda annoying. What are people using it for? (other than sending "test" and "hi everyone")

  I have some awesome signs made by @LewisWorkshop@mastodon.online BUT they're metal, so I wonder if they may be sub-optimal for having around when I'm actually operating and emitting non-ionising radiation. So I reproduced it in OpenSCAD and 3d printed a smaller plastic version that shouldn't become it's own problem.   Much nerd excitement, this is day 7 of not importing any electricity from the grid. 100% our own solar generated power (including storing and using from the battery) This includes multiple clothes washes, multiple dishwasher runs, cooking, and all our hot water (heat pump) for a family of 5. I wonder how long we'll be able to keep this going? #solar

  I saw a cartoon about the "straight cis guy with a trans pride sticker on his work laptop" (but now can't find again) and liked the idea, I am usually that guy - but my new-ish work laptop didn't have an sticker. I made this quickly using my thermal label printer (inspired by one of @heydon t-shirts) Does anyone on here sell more colourful stickers?

  Has anyone got a collection of guides on how to add image descriptions for all of the different mastodon/fediverse clients? It's not an obvious feature, and I want to make it easy for people to do. But I don't have an iPhone so I could only help with Android apps..

Does anyone know how to contact @smitty? mastodon.hams.social is running very out of date software (4.2.10 from July 2024) I've not had any replies to emails I've sent to Mark.   I hate presta valves. I hate rim brakes. Can't get the fucking things to stay centred, no idea how to, none of the guides help. I also hate that we have this many punctures that I had to go buy more tubes and they have presta valves. (Yes I know I can patch tubes) (yes I know about and use slime)
