  Just watched “A Private Life,” a French thriller starring Jodie Foster whose French - to my English ear, anyway - seemed impeccable. More importantly, her acting, as usual, was outstanding. I’m surprised she didn’t receive an Academy award nomination for this role. The plot was complex and clever, and even surprisingly humorous.
