@Popehat Ken, this doesn’t pass the smell test. There’s no way Charlie Kirk can count to 61.

Stop pumping out stupid stuff on the Justice Thomas financial issues. There are some real deficiencies here. But every time you put out something facially stupid it gives cover for people to dismiss the whole thing.

@jaymerryfield @Popehat Paradox grand strategy game tutorials are pretty bad. If it’s not clicking, try watching a Let’s Play on YouTube for a while. That’s how I figured out CK2.

Ok, I shouldn’t have limited myself to Thomas. Doing stupid stories about other Republican appointed justices ALSO detracts from the real issues with Thomas’ disclosures.

Today on Substack I wrote a post about the wild case history leading to In re Neagle and the birth of Neagle immunity. https://lawzag.substack.com/p/the-wild-wild-west-and-neagle-immunity

@Women4Popehat @Popehat I actually wrote about what I think the theory will be today, but didn’t make it past the wild facts of the underlying case, which include (1) a sitting state Supreme Court Justice dueling a U.S. Senator (2) a dispute over a forged silver baron’s will (3) a litigant pulling the hair of a judge while the case was under advisement. https://lawzag.substack.com/p/the-wild-wild-west-and-neagle-immunity

ICYMI: I wrote a post about the back story giving rise to the Neagle immunity doctrine. Former state Supreme Court Justice David Terry represented the mistress of a silver baron in a will contest. Terry had a violent history, including stabbing vigilantes, killing a U.S. Senator, and fighting for the confederacy. When SCOTUS Justice Field ruled against his client, he swore revenge, and U.S. Marshal Neagle was ready for him. https://lawzag.substack.com/p/the-wild-wild-west-and-neagle-immunity

This week I look at Ohio jailing a fed for serving margarine to disabled vets, bad driving postal workers, and snipers at Ruby Ridge. What does this have to do with Donald Trump’s removal of his criminal case to federal court? A little bit, but not a bunch https://lawzag.substack.com/p/neagle-immunity-continued?utm_source=profile&utm_medium=reader2

@LizardSF @Popehat All of the allegedly false business records are in 2017 when he was president. (This does not make me think hes right that he has a good argument that he was acting under color of law).

I wrote a follow up on my series regarding Trump and federal officer removal. We have Manhattan’s motion and it’s not as good as it could have been, but it’s probably fine. https://lawzag.substack.com/p/color-of-office-redux
