Really really long sesh and some proper nasty sound design adventures... after some 10-12 hours, I tend to get to a point where each sound develops a distinct human like personality and character.. each sound has a specific relationship to all the other sounds.. like colleagues or neighbors.. one sound might be gossiping about the others, some might keep their distance, while some develop a really extroverted personality.. it's fun watching it unfold.. there's probably a diagnosis here b...

So stoked about this whole setup finally working as intended! Spent ages building this whole thing and it's finally at a stage where it can be properly played and performed with. Some early tests here featuring the new Zebra3. Absolutely brilliant work from folks over at U-HE...

@sean_ae Fucks sake, “1 1 is" is in my top 5 and I never thought about it but now that you mention it the whole track really feels like such a dream, everything in it seems so incredibly close and far away at the same time. Esp the second half, that snare like crushing sound really reminds me on the sounds I'd hear when the textures would start distorting. Listening back to it now and it's goosebumps all over. like when you have to exit a room to remember why you went in...

@sean_ae @Lime Please tell me you have some screenshots/videos of the earlier version. I'd be thrilled to see that haha :D

@sean_ae @Lime Talking about samplers, do you tend to use polybuffer~ for storing banks of samples for a given device or do you approach it differently? Just got to building a few of my own and I seem to be running into some issues when having loads of modules referring to the same polybuffer~. Still debugging so I’m not 100% its the polybuffer but thought i'd ask

@sean_ae @Lime Interesting. Wonder how that looks like :D polybuffer~ seems p cool cause it's quite easy to set up large sample banks and organise them pretty quickly which is great for me cause I suck at organising my samples haha Do you still use a lot of the mechanics you guys developed in the past where some of the objects we have today (that streamline the process) just weren't available or do you tend to go back and update stuff even if it still works?

@sean_ae Saw this a while back and I keep coming back to it. The similarity between some of the newer material and this is insane, esp to that gong jam you posted which can be heard in the latest bootlegs. It's not even the timbre similarity that surprises me as much cause I know you're into gamelan, but just the rhythmical structures are so damn Ae sounding. Insanely cool. Love their expressions, just effortless. A demo of pure skill. Here's the OG link: https://www.inst...

Had a rush of euphoria today after realising that some year and half ago when I started messing with Max I couldn't even understand something like this if it was played to me, let alone create it... what a rewarding journey its been so far..
