Today’s Friday Frivolity is an update on the fate of a piano that once belonged to Liberace. After a second trip to the First Circuit, the piano and its 10,000 rhinestones belongs to the Gibson Foundation. #law #contracts #music https://www.contractsprofblog.com/2026/08/friday-frivolity-update-on-the-liberace-piano/

Were jurors trolling Elon Musk by highlighting the number 420 on a trial exhibit in his securities fraud case or were they just making a joke that they thought he might appreciate? Does anything hinge on the answer to that question? #law #contracts #Twitter #ElonMusk #litigation #SecuritiesFraud https://www.contractsprofblog.com/2026/04/friday-frivolity-somebody-cant-take-a-420-joke/

Some Costco customers are suing Costco, claiming entitlement to a portion of the refunds that the company is seeking from the government on its tariff claims. Seems like a stupid suit. Costco never promised refunds, so plaintiffs have no legal claims. Moreover, Costco hasn’t recovered anything yet. As a result, unlike the mangoes in the nectar that I buy from Costco, I think this claim is unripe. #law #contracts #IEEPA #tariffs #Costco #ClassActions https://www.contractsprofblog.com/2026/03/a...
