There's not much else in nature which is the colour of Lichen. I have no idea what you would call it, "grey-green" maybe? I think "Lichen" will have to do. Here's a lovely little patch of British Soldiers, or Devils Matchsticks or whatever people call it - but maybe not big enough red caps for those. In reality, it's a Cladonia some sort - my ID skills aren't up to getting any closer these days. On moorland somewhere up north. #Lichen #Nature

For a change, a dawn dawning. From the bottom of the half croft at a cottage we were staying at in Bhaltos (Valtos), N Skye. Looking over to Shieldaig. #Skye #Shieldaig #Dawn #Landscape #Photogaphy #Scotland #Hebrides

From a crag overlooking the valley a belaying climber gets to look out over an unfolding temperature inversion in the valley below and a stunning sunset. Ravensheugh Crag, Northumberland. #Northumberland #Sunset #Climate #Weather #Landscape #Photography

Close Encounter. Something in this image creates the impression that the turbine is floating like an alien ship, maybe something to do with the gravel base. #Engineering #WindTurbine #Turbine #Renewables #Wanneys #BlackAndWhitePhotography #BlackAndWhite #Photography

Ratcheugh Observatory, an 18th century folly owned by the Duke of Northumberland and consisting of, on the left, a raised square observatory with 360% views of Northumberland and the North Sea, and a small flat on the right, which is rented out. IIMHO the best flat in the county if you forget who owns it! The crag it sits on has a some poor rock climbs on it. #Photography #Landscape #Northumberland #Folly

Pylon with fisheye. I rather like photographing pylons, easier than birds, people etc. They stay put and don't argue. #Photography #BlackAndWhitePhotography #BlackAndWhite #Pylon #ElectricPylon
