#PennedPossibilities 1002 — Tell us a random fact (of any kind) about your WIP. Way too many years ago, when Godhunter was first conceived, it was the germ of an idea for a game. In the game, a character would have to go around collecting angel swords, which each did something different depending on the angel they came from. Raphael's sword, for example, could only heal whatever it pierced.

Just got into the top 100 for two of my genre categories (pictured is the "Paranormal Angel Romance" category), and I'm currently pretty pleased about it. I have my sights set on the top ten eventually, but I'll take 42 today, yes I will. 😁 🎊 🥂 PS—The $0.99 sale is still on, if anyone wants to participate. #WritingCommunity #books #romance #fantasy #amazon #SlowBurn #IndieAuthor #bookstodon

Bringing my prices up tonight because publishing is 💸, and I'm deep under water. 😭 They're still on sale for $0.99 and $2.99 respectively until midnight EST. After that, they're going up from their usual price by a dollar. If you missed the sale, please do check your local library! Hoopla, Overdrive, Libby—my books are available on all of them. Just request 'em. It's free for you and compensation for me. Libraries are brilliant that way. ❤️📚 #WritingComm...

Related to my recent boost about book-club scams: Here's the email I received yesterday from my website's contact form. It just reeks of AI, IMO. 😝 In case you were wondering, no, I did not reply or give them money. And, yes, I did report the message. Hope it gives you a chuckle anyway. Be careful out there, friends. PS—I do believe this is a real book club, BTW, but I do not believe this message is from them. #WritingCommunity #scam #books

New (to me) eggcorn heard: "one of the tale-tall signs…" which appears to mix "tall tale" with "telltale." Interesting. 🤔 Coming from a YouTube chiropractor, so also amusing. #language

OMG, y’all, I found it! The elusive “comma before too” rule in the CMOS hard copy. I feel so accomplished. I’m also more confident omitting them now. Whew! That was terrifying, I must say. #WritingCommunity

#WordWeavers 19: Does your antagonist believe in the supernatural? My antagonist IS the supernatural. Come to think of it, all of them are in this series.

This review of someone else's book simultaneously confused me and made me chuckle. 😭💀 A reminder to myself not to take star ratings too much to heart.

#WordWeavers 20: What tropes are in your current project? The one I’m working on now? 🤷‍♀️ I’m sure someone could find some trope or other, but to be honest, I’m tired of even looking for them. I’ve never written with tropes in mind, and marketing with them got me nowhere. So I’ve decided to go back to not thinking about them at any stage.

#WordWeavers 21: What part of editing is the hardest for you? Proofreading. I go backward and forward, my eyes burn, and I still miss things. So, 👻.

#WordWeavers 22: Have you ever created a character that you really didn’t enjoy writing? Yes, but not under this pen name. I love all the characters in A Tyranny of Angels. The character I really hated creating was someone I didn’t bother to name or describe except for what was strictly necessary. He didn’t deserve my time and effort, so I didn’t give it to him.

Just finished my first short story in years, and I'm trying to decide whether it makes sense to ask for beta readers. The story is science fiction and only about 4,800. Do you short story authors have regular beta readers? #WritingCommunity #ScienceFiction #Shorts

Anyone here on #Loops? I'm giving it a try. In the process of reposting all my Insta stuff there as an alternative. Because Meta is stooopid. Anyway, give me your username/link, and I'll follow you. I need more writer types in my timeline. 😊 This is me: https://loops.video/@IsobelLynn #WritingCommunity #WritingLife
