LA Metro opened an extension to it&#39;s underground subway today. The grand opening was held on the rooftop of the Petersen Automotive Museum. Things have gone full circle from Big Auto destroying LA&#39;s extensive street car system.

I used to work in horse racing. I helped train horses, loaded them into starting gates, analyzed performances, created stallion ads, was a tipster, and so on. Somehow, I always forget big race days are about betting and fashion. #KentuckyDerby

The photographer took an action shot that made a kid--who was on my kid&#39;s soccer team and was so awful several teammates quit soccer--look absolutely ridiculous. My kid and I indulged in some delicious schadenfreude.

Thinking of the six women (including me) who graduated together with a degree in civil eng 28 years ago. - P (BW) never worked as an engineer - J (AW) masters degree, worked a few years, married, had kids, never worked again - T (BW) masters degree, 10+ years progressive experience, had a kid with special needs, left workforce - R (AW) PhD, had kids, left workforce - J (WW) City Engineer of a 2m+ population Metro area - Me (WW) masters degree, hanging in the industry but do advisory work
