I just realised that Netflix killed Bandersnatch (Black Mirror, 2018), and already a year ago. In this case it's really killed, not removed. There is no "backend" anymore for interactive films. It's really a shame. There was a lot of discuss and envision, using it as an example.

If not too far away from Merz Akademie, Stuttgart today at 16:30 (CEST), join us for a little reception “Say it with a game!” 🎮 🥂 🎮 🥂🎮 🥂 Students of “A Film? A Game? An Artwork” start the semester with expressing love, hate, concern, joy, fear, solitude,… through a minimalist gesture and their favorite games.

Campbell's Connection keeper is not as cool as Juicero or Kuvée. But nice to have twenty-tens vibes back...on the table ;) https://www.campbells.com/prego/the-connection-keeper/ https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Juicero https://www.eater.com/2016/3/28/11318408/kuvee-wifi-wine-bottle

The first demo video on openai.com/sora made me update "Animated GIFs Official Timeline"* Of course color wise (the dress and the hair) it would very much fit to the alternative timeline**, but it's about the legs. I haven't seen this leg glitch since erotic.gif -- the first in the timeline, circa 1997. -- *http://contemporary-home-computing.org/GIF-Timeline/ ** http://contemporary-home-computing.org/GIF-Timeline/index1.html

“With us, the adventure of becoming human has entered a new phase,” writes philosopher Vilém Flusser in one of his most beautiful texts, Digital Apparition. The year was 1991, and by “us” he meant “those who sit in front of their computers,” “press the keys,” and “realize possibilities”: “realize alternative worlds and thereby themselves.” It is 2026. We have tried all the key combinations and helped to build the world in which we are hardly needed anymore... https://pad.profolia.org/s/Without...

Reads like Kevin Kelly in a 1997 WIRED article, pursuing its readers to install Dream Weaver to master the WWW... ... but it's Mike Masnick in 2026 suggesting "AI Might Be Our Best Shot at Taking Back The Open Web" https://www.techdirt.com/2026/03/25/ai-might-be-our-best-shot-at-taking-back-the-open-web/

Very happy that this call exists and that I'm in the jury! Spread the word and/or apply!! It's quite a challenge to be true to the web, but not netstalgic. Please try :) Error 417 Expectation Failed is looking for projects that reject the longing for a mythic “old internet” and confront the politics of net nostalgia head-on. https://error417.expectation.fail/406/netstalgia-not-acceptable/open-call
