Was serving as a chaplain at our camp last week. Three years ago, due to a small name badge, I put my name down as "Fr Chaz" (a name I only use on social media). The kids immediately began calling me "Father Cheese." The name persists. I was even dropping something off at the camp yesterday and heard another group of kids calling out "Father Cheese!" -- kids who remembered me from previous years. It's corny, sure. But I love it.

Kids saw a moving sale sign and so bugged me about going. Turns out the dude had a TON of various gadgets he was getting rid of. Saw this Drop keyboard and had to have it (being a 90s kid I’m such a sucker for anything Atomic Purple). Got it for a steal (coupled with a bin of Lego he sold my kids). Might have to sub out my beloved Apple G4 Power Mac keyboard…

Typing on a laptop while listening to Moby's Play album on an iPod-looking mp3 player. Is it now or is it 26 years ago?

Feels weird to write a sort of obituary for Ted Turner considering that I knew very little of the man. But he was a fixture in the background of my entire life, largely shaping the world I knew. He was also widely criticized in my childhood church for his politics and (lack of?) faith. Which means that he is probably worth celebrating, if I'm being honest. #TedTurner #faith #Christianity #death #theology https://catecheticconverter.com/on-ted-turners-passing

Today we will be discussing the ever-present sign of the cross in Christianity. If you've ever wondered why we Christians make such a big deal out of the instrument upon which Jesus was killed, then this installment is for you. We go live at 2:30 Hawai'i time (but can be watched whenever after that) #Jesus #Cross #Anglican #Episcopal #Church #Christianity #Bible #Theology https://www.youtube.com/live/-M7bqYq4wpc

If I've learned anything from my years of following #mosstodon it's that I must visit Devon at some point in my life.

From when I was cool: In my late teens I started a ministry for skateboarders and we called it splinter. I made this stencil so we could spray paint the logo on boards (I used to put it on both skateboards and surfboards). Just came across the stencil as i was digging through old stuff as part of a writing project.

Because it is already #Easter in some quarters, figure now would be a good time to share once again this crucial message (and also a theme of my sermon in the morning): #BelieveWomen #MaryMagdalene #Christianity #Church #Jesus

Since today is the Feast of the Annunciation and I'm a priest at a church dedicated to Our Lady, figured I'd write a little something about the day (that also aims to challenge the traditions a little bit). https://catecheticconverter.com/on-the-annunciation-and-the-incarnation #Jesus #Mary #Anglican #Episcopal #Catholic #Church #Bible #Christian

Decided to write another thing about #surfing and what it means to my life. Also, the header photo is of me surfing! (From the summer of 2004, on tiny Fort Pierce summer waves) Whenever I try to add Alt text to my images in Write. As, I have problems (I'll put it in a reply). https://catecheticconverter.com/surfing-and-humility #Spirituality #Christianity #GrowingUp #Biography
