  All my games are installed on a non-OS drive. Will I have to re-download them, or will Steam automatically detect them once I point it to the directory? The SteamLibrary folder will move over, no problem. The drive being formatted as NTFS is the issue. Valve doesn’t recommend this with Proton/WINE for reasons. NTFS isn’t case sensitive, for example.   Yeah, I completely understand. I bounced off Linux desktop several times and I’m a sysadmin.   I’ll legit look into this tomorrow. The answer is generally: Proton/Steam. There was a patch to WINE or Proton recently that made it much easier to use mods that require custom DLLs. The core weird trick is understanding that there’s a directory for your game (once installed/setup in Proton) that’s essentially the C: drive.   Any systemd fork or distro that exists just to remove the birthDate field will be dead in a few weeks. There ain’t no way someone is going to maintain an entire fork and distro to remove one optional field in a user’s profile.

It’s an optional information field for user accounts, systemd doesn’t require that it is filled nor does systemd do anything to verify or check the field. They added the ability to store the data because the xdg-desktop-portal team added the ability to set an age and that requires a place to store the data.
