  We are testing an online petition platform and have created a petition asking the Town of Innisfil to: 1. Stop using X 2. Start using Mastodon.   I had an earlier post about municipalities leaving X and joining Mastodon and a thought occurred to me. Cities and towns could benefit from having their own instance running #Friendica - the closest #Fediverse equivalent to Meta/Facebook. It would allow them to have separate groups for neighborhoods or communities within their municipality, and integrate easily with other Fediverse apps.   X and Grok have been the subject of media scrutiny for several months, certainly deserved, and have taken some of the focus off of other social media platforms. Meta and YouTube are currently defending their companies from a lawsuit alleging their algorithms lead to addiction. It's one of many moving through the court system.
