I’ve been wrong about technology before. In the late 1980s, I sat in front of a computer and said — out loud, with full conviction — “Who on planet earth needs a mouse?” The keyboard was everything. The mouse was a toy for people who couldn’t type. I was spectacularly wrong. And now, after decades on Windows — I’ve done something I genuinely never expected: I switched to a Mac. https://photography.myvortexcloud.com/blog/nas-migration-guide

The third and final volume of The Doors of Perception is out. A photographic essay on medium format film — four movements, one argument about perception, attention, and the ordinary world we walk past every day. Shot on the Pentacon Six TL and Zeiss Ikon Ikonta. Ilford XP2 Super 400 and Kodak Gold 200. #MediumFormat #FilmPhotography #AnalogPhotography #PhotoZine #Pentacon https://photography.myvortexcloud.com/blog/doors-of-perception-vol3

Three editions. Three ways of seeing. A photographic essay shot entirely on medium format film — from church interiors in Montreal and Boston to the canyons of Arizona to an ordinary street in autumn. This is the making of The Doors of Perception. #filmisnotdead #photography #zine https://youtu.be/b6U0J3_k5B0?si=uTm3ELHIVG2uToI5

The Doors of Perception - What the Land Remembers The second edition of my photographic essay series. Four movements — Confinement, Character, Expansion, Seeing Shot on medium format b&w film across Utah and Arizona with the infamous Pentacon Six TL, handheld. No digital capture. It's not a travel book. It's not about showing nice pictures. It's about relearning to see. The Doors of Perception — What the Land Remembers #pentacon #photography #theartofseeing...

Somehow, it’s already March 2026 😉 Over the past year I kept returning to the same places near home with medium-format film cameras — and realized the familiar doesn’t get boring, it gets deeper. Here’s the story behind From My Front Door — Second Look. #AnalogPhotography #MediumFormat #FilmPhotography #OneFrameAtATime #zine https://photography.myvortexcloud.com/blog/from-my-front-door-second-look

Three photographic zines. Two medium format film cameras. One deliberate practice. The Pentacon Six TL and the Zeiss Ikon Ikonta — 6×6 and 6×9, Ilford film, no motor drive, no chimping. Just light, intention, and a finite roll. #MediumFormat #FilmPhotography #AnalogPhotography #Zine #Pentacon #ZeissLens https://youtube.com/shorts/G8hAu3wh6m8?si=SLSiPaVziSARXRMv

Just finished my third zine — The Doors of Perception, Edition 1, 2026. A photographic essay on thresholds, shot one frame at a time on medium format film. The concept runs from Blake to Huxley to Morrison — and into my own thinking about what it means to really see. Full post on my blog — link below. Would love to hear your thoughts. 📷 https://photography.myvortexcloud.com/blog/doors-of-perception #FilmPhotography #MediumFormat #Zine #AnalogPhotography
