It's probably made me more open to/interested in, shall we say, less traditional sexual activities. People are so creative!

  • Trump fires new U.S. attorney in Seattle within an hour

At 7:40 a.m. Wednesday, federal judges in the Western District of Washington swore in former King County Superior Court judge and federal prosecutor Roger Rogoff as their pick for U.S. attorney. Fifty-four minutes later, President Donald Trump fired him. Rogoff, who recently resigned as director of the state office of independent investigations, formed to investigate police killings, is now the rope in a tug-of-war with the Trump administration. The district’s 17 sitting federal judges began...

Well, yeah. What are you going to do about it?

You're doing a lot of projecting there. Or assuming. I'm not miserable and I don't need a destructive life.

    Are you named for Gongitsune?

Sure, but you should not expect to be healthy in your old age. Hope for it, plan for it, sure. But also realize that you don't have a whole lot of control over it in the end. Use what you've got while you've got it. And no, I don't dread old age. My genetic problems reared their heads long ago.

I'm two decades younger and remember all that except red pistachios. And my family used to eat a lot of pistachios.

It's not much better once you get into the workforce. Unfortunately. And so much of the misogyny is invisible to men until it's pointed out to them explicitly. But I agree: If you believe that members of the opposite sex should not be permitted to be working, you should not be permitted to work outside of occupations which are necessarily restricted by sex. Similarly, if you don't think think you should have to work with brown people, disabled people, foreign people....

Everybody likes to bash on the tech companies--and they behave horribly--, but really that largely because they make such insane money right now. This has been a thing in other industries and still is. Look at Walmart. Tech is just the new big thing distracting from the capitalist system being the problem.

    Radiation.

It's not the L. Where I'm from, the vowel sounds are different. Cock - like the O in "box". Caulk - like "aw", as in "dawn" (it is worth noting that much of the US has been losing the "aw" sound in that word, so that's probably why I'm the odd one out).

I thought it was the "girl" part since most women of reproductive age are on hormonal contraceptives.

And contraceptives and some antibiotics and antivirals and.... I like grapefruit, but I gave it up ages ago.

    Same. I only buy AMD.

It's not substantially more difficult to make than it is to make packaged foods.

You should introduce your son to Korean soups/stews. If he likes miso soup that much, he'll find some favorites in Korea as well. I'm especially partial to spicy doenjang jigae (a Korean miso stew--you can mostly use the ingredients recommended to add to the broth as suggestions and use whatever you like because it's all about the broth). This is very similar to how I make it except that I use packaged dashi and usually use shellfish and leafy greens, sometimes noodles (udon or dan...

TIL Canada has small blocks of tofu. I've bought tofu in the US and in Japan and the standard block is the same size in both (approximately--400g in Japan; 14oz in the US). Can vary slightly by brand and it course smaller options are available, but that's the usual size for at least those two.

Same reason humans aren't supposed to eat the meat of fish high up in the food chain too often, like tuna. Mercury poisoning specifically in that case.

It was a response to other comments on that tech having shortcomings.

Right, but if they want to use this sort of tech, they should probably require baskets.

Just because there is prostitution doesn't mean it's sketchy. Sketchy generally means unsafe.
