I am sure you are familiar with The Monty Hall Problem. But are you also familiar with The Girl Named Florida Problem? No? Well, this great post has you covered… The Lost Chapter - Probably Overthinking It https://www.allendowney.com/blog/2025/12/04/the-lost-chapter/ #statistics

RE: https://newsie.social/@TheConversationUS/116245122803329311 Or the name of the church of my youth. CCD class after school once per week. Part of my history, I guess.

@Zygos Holy πŸ’©! I think I've done that much climbing during the previous *six years* combined. And as you alluded to, I consider myself a climber. That is just bonkers. The most I've done in one year is ~585k feet, or a bit over 178 km. I could not imagine climbing over 800 km more within a single year. What an achievement. And thank you for tagging me on this πŸ‘

@MartyCormack @wav3ydave May 22, 2022 … several inches, so not a huge storm, but certainly put a wrinkle into riding outside for a day or two (at least for me, given I do not own a fat bike 😁)

@Zygos I hope the third line of the chorus ends up being incorrect

Had to take this picture during today's ride (on the road in between segments of the Ralston Creek Trail). Why, you ask? Well, take a guess and I'll let you know if you're right or provide a hint or two. #BikeTooter

Time to pass the torch … I could not keep up on a short & steep climb during today's bike ride 😁 #BikeTooter #GoodTimes #ProudDad

Not nearly as spectacular and momentous as yesterday's phenomenal OT goal for the USA Women's hockey team to take the gold πŸ₯‡, but here's another stretch pass which resulted in a πŸ’ πŸ₯…πŸš¨ This was from 7 years ago, almost to the day. The goal scorer? My son β€” who is now a coach in the organization he grew up playing in. πŸ₯² cc @MartyCormack
