SF Airport, 1966 It was only a drill for the Fire Department that James Martin photographed one day, still I found these pretty dramatic. I don't think they do this sort of thing anymore. #sfmemory #sfhistory

Guess Where SF, July 1964 A recent scan from the SF Heritage Archive. The building still stands and looks about the same. Walkers may recognize it. (yes, of course you can look it up in the city directory, but give it a shot) #sfmemory #sfhistory #sanfrancisco

Protestant Orphan Asylum Oct 17, 1901 Near the corner of Waller and Buchanan, the imposing building housed thousands of children between 1854 and the 1920s. Built outside the city limits, two surrounding streets were named for instrumental leaders of the organization, Weltha Haight and Elizabeth Waller (from the DH Wulzen glass plates) #sfhistory #sfmemory

Last Days of Playland, 1968-72 Scanning about 100 slides and trying to sort out the dates, both of these have the same processing date of Sept 1972, one is obviously earlier & was reprinted on a Kodachrome Duplicate slide mount. I mean, there weren't 2 of these benches. #sfhistory #playland #sanfrancisco

Dead Kennedys March 1982 That's me crawling onto the stage at the Elite Club. (Fillmore Auditorium) I was shocked to discover this picture while cataloging Greg Gaar's photos back in 2015. (just noticed my then girlfriend Ann in the background near the speaker.) Bart Tube Construction, 1967 The over 50 sections of the Bart Tube were constructed at Bethlehem Steel at Potrero Hill, Pier 70. The paint outline at Crane Cove Park doesn’t do them justice. #sfhistory #sfmemory
