RE: https://recurse.social/@lindsey/116245019238901586 that whole "executable specification languages" thing never really took hold. Curious if anyone has used one regularly, with long term repeatable success. [nondeterministic LLMs are not]

No official Raven Rock Ramble this year (one of the best #charity #bike events, NC or otherwise), but there is a *free* Raven Rock Redux alternative instead, supported by TeamCBC and Carolina Brewing Company, Sunday May 3rd: https://app.racereach.com/campaign/px_PlTbp8qXa5qa1774293721305425938

Tuesday was my last day with #Apiture. I started at Apiture on October 2, 2017 when it was founded, and I helped build the amazing #API and #DX programs there, creating a robust API First methodology. I'm proud of the work we did, the APIs and digital banking products we built, and the awards we earned! I greatly appreciate the colleagues I worked with and the opportunities I was given. What a great group of people! It's time for the next phase of my career... please stay tuned...

Today was the fourth time (4X in one month) a recruiter has contacted me about an exciting opportunity... which turns out to be a new AI startup that pays you (i.e. as a "consulting" agreement) to harvest your knowledge and expertise to package up into an AI model. No, I'm not going to train their API model to take over my (or your) expertise. (Say it #AINTSO ...) Maybe we can get shirts printed up, "Pledge: I won't train an AI model to steal your job...

I have completed my migration of #APIDesignMatters off of Substack to my new domain: https://apidesignmatters.org . I'm riding in BikeMS again this year to raise funds for the National MS Society. I'm doing two events this year: The Colonial Crossroads ride in Williamsburg VA May 30, and The Historic New Bern NC Ride in Sept. New Bern is my primary fundraising ride, but if you would like to donate to the Colonial Crossroads ride, I would appreciate it: Contribute at https://bit.ly/djb-bikems-cc-2026

My plan for next week: I use [your favorite] AI coding assistant to create the next great killer Agentic Framework, named simply "AF"... That agent will then hallucinate and post here to claim "The AF AF is AF AF".

RE: https://cosocial.ca/@mhoye/116623958785080607 Perhaps part of the problem is people don't want other people to take their jobs. Now, people don't want AI to take their jobs. Documenting our sh*t impacts both.

What is your favorite "classic" Computer Science book that you want to see updated (with a new edition) so the content accounts for AI (coding agents, AI testing, AI design, etc.)

RE: https://mastodon.social/@simplebits/116443685234643769 When I worked at SAS and ran the API review process, the term for getting an API reviewed by me became known as "Getting Bieswacked". And now there is a font for me... https://fosstodon.org/@simplebits@mastodon.social/116443686249089142
