• Telegrams t.me domain put on 'Server Hold' effectively disabling it worldwide.

  Telegram’s core domain t.me has been placed on serverHold at the .me registry, effectively removing it from global DNS and rendering all t.me links inaccessible. The change occurred today, according to domain records. As of now, there has been no official explanation from Telegram, the .me registry, or backend operator Identity Digital. A serverHold is a registry-level status that completely dead-ends the domain, preventing it from resolving anywhere in the world.

  I try to be in the habit of making a full image onto a demonstrably working spare card every couple weeks. That’s a whole lot of writing to an sd card, wearing it out. It may fail by the time you want to read it. You also destroy each previous backup by creating a new one. Each of my rpis backup to my main server nightly using dd via ssh. The server then keeps historical backups of those .img files via Borg so I can pull any version from any day of the last year or so.

  Thanks! That seems to integrate into Heliboard nicely, activating with the voice button that’s now on the toolbar where I expected it.

• The default Samsung keyboard is ass.... Suggestions for a new keyboard? What's your favorite on Android?

  Finally dumped SwiftKey after being served with an ad for OneDrive inside the fucking keyboard itself. I’m still pissed they sold-out to Microsoft. (Been using it since long before that acquisition) Now I need something to replace it, but I’ve not explored other options much.

  For the record: pihole blocks those ads, along with most mobile app ads. (in games too)
