To get copyright protection on executables, the author should at least put the full source code repository under escrow to be released once the copyright term expires. Copyright only applies to something human created. Anything machine generated cannot be copyrighted, unless it&#39;s a simple reproducible transformation from something human created. #UnpopularOpinion
