What's a good alternative to #Mozilla #Firefox without crapware ? I just fresh installed it and had to remove widgets and VPN button. Then launched it again and some widgets and the VPN icon had come back! Balls to this. I had already been thinking it has been crappifying for a bit and today is the lastni want to put up with it.

This is a genuine email from #Microsoft yet it lacks an unsubscribe link, the unsubscribe link is missing from the message headers and the from address is "noreply" as the name but the address in the envelope is "replies@microsoft.com"

What the hell is this. I've not bought a VoIP number for ages and almost every provider now seems to need Photo ID, a recent utility bill and, in some instances, company registration documents and an app / webcam proof of being a person check before you can buy a number. Wow. Mad.

I wish customer services were better these days.. Trying to call a car rental company to extend the rental (you would think something they would welcome as they get to bill be more money) but it&#39;s eternal hold music. Nobody answers. ARGH.

@fesshole@mastodon.social I and my (then) wife would often wake up without explanation at around 3.30 each morning. It was only by chance that one day I was already awake then and heard one of the Alexa's talk! Turns out a routine set for that time in the morning was failing to do something so Alexa would announce it but not loud or long enough for us to realise it during the sleep disturbance.

@MLE_online@social.afront.org I learned that a long time ago. Slow pans and record for much longer than you think is required. Slow pans if moving the camera really is important too.

@Erased_Citizen@cupoftea.social I generally find it ok.. the worst thing is not being warned when it's about to do an update to the door controllers over RS485 - leaving doors locked until the upgrade completes HOURS later. (due to slow speed on RS485)
