Does anyone here have knowledge of the Norwegian academic research environment? Apparently it's not required to submit for ethics clearance or gain consent for use of participant data if you request it via linkedin? This astonishes me. They say it's not required for "stakeholder workshops" either, but also apparently solicited stakeholder feedback on LinkedIn https://open-research-europe.ec.europa.eu/articles/6-35 I'm a bit baffled by this, but if anyone has any more knowl...

Always exciting to get a Royal Mail delivery notice - this time it’s from “Printing”. Wonder which of the many many printed things I ordered for #emfcamp this one is? 😂 Seriously though these companies that don’t put their actual name in the “from” field for deliveries suck 🫠 or maybe it’s RM that sucks. Who knows.

As someone who did her PhD on consent I just want to flag a few things in the bsky bridge discussion. One: medical style disclosure based consent (terms and conditions, EULAs etc.) is totally inappropriate for this sort of situation and has been for decades. But it serves the needs of slow-moving legal requirements and companies that like people to forget they signed up to stuff (or were coerced into doing so for social or other reasons). My 1 year old son has just started making noises when he plays with cars. He doesn’t say “brrrrm” or similar, he says “eeeee”. We own electric cars. Think of it, a future where cars, buses, trucks, tractors go “eeeee” instead of “brrrrrm” in the minds of children. #ElectricVehicles
