My office in the building is central internal, I don't have a window. As I walked out I passed the windows and the air is orange outside ground level windows. And... I could smell wildfire smoke in the hallways of the main office. THIS IS FINE!!! THIS IS FUCKING FINE!!!

Imma just sitting here stunned at how many people are all in on the "Hey we don't need humans to do any of this anymore." AI bandwagon. Have you thought that through to the end?

Required reading for every Canadian. Dr Lindsay Tedds "Privatize the upside. Socialize the guarantee. That's Carney's $25B Canada Strong Fund. New blog on who actually bears the losses on this "sovereign wealth fund," and what the fuck we're actually building when we say "nation-building."" https://deadfortaxreasons.wordpress.com/2026/04/28/privatize-the-upside-socialize-the-guarantee/

I have no idea what the @gandersocial.ca team is up to, but the app is nigh unusable for me. It's like Facebook on Meth right now. Are people posting things right now? I have no idea. Is that post current? I have no idea. Is this post from someone I follow? I. Have. No. Idea. I was hoping it would be BlueSky, but Canadian. Instead they're reinventing what a social media interface should be, and I have no clue who they are designing that interface for. It is illogical and...

I want to focus on the physical toll of Trumpism to our nation and our collective daily psyche. To me, there’s actually a simple explanation for that heaviness: It’s the weight of the shift from “zero to non-zero.” There are so many aspects of our daily life that we’d never had to weigh before; so many new possible horrors that we have to carry in our minds each day. https://www.doomsdayscenario.co/p/the-physical-weight-of-trumpism

I do wish Avi Lewis and the NDP good fortune as the NDP tries to rebuild and reassert itself into our federal conversations. We need a strong left wing party advocating for change. Because it is entirely absent right now.

I hold view that the CEO of Air Canada does not have to be bilingual, however, I also think that Air Canada should have a process in place to communicate on behalf of the CEO in French (or English) if the CEO happens to be unilingual.

The fog blowing off the snowdrifts along the roads in the country is wild. Big waves of roiling white stuff, honestly looks similar to high winds and snow. Like driving through snow squalls, but with fog. Fog squalls? Never seen anything like it.
