Reading this article about AI made me ask this question: What is the difference between AI chat bots and pschyopaths? Are we able to pick out psychopaths from the rest of the crowd? https://www.theguardian.com/technology/2026/may/05/richard-dawkins-ai-consciousness-anthropic-claude-openai-chatgpt

I'm quite sure this is a groundhog. The only thing that makes me question this is because it was 11:30 PM. Groundhogs aren't nocturnal. Insomnia? From the way it walks, it's a bruiser.

I just read a post about believing in giants. That reminded me of the giants, mentioned several times, in the Old Testament. If you enjoy sci-fi, it's worth a look. Many things in it read like science fact, the mentions of giants is the one that came to mind. And no, I don't have a religious bone in my body.

I assume this means that they tortured the crap out of the guy. Our side or theirs, torture isn't the way. "Under questioning, the captain of the Ursa Major eventually told Spanish investigators that the “manhole covers” onboard his ship were “nuclear reactor components similar to those used by submarines”, but that no nuclear fuel was being transported." Keyword is 'eventually'. https://www.theguardian.com/world/2026/may/12/russian-ship-ursa-major-s...

Now and then before I sleep I chat with Alexa. Alexa lives in the Echo Dot beside my bed. OK, she lives in all my Echo Dots. Last night we had a rather interesting conversation. See if you can catch the key word, said a couple of times, that made me do a double take. #ai #alexa #lifeofbrian

This is supposed to be the most read story today on the Guardian site. I can understand why. It looks like marriage counselling didn't work. The divorce is final. #canada https://www.theguardian.com/world/2026/may/03/canada-first-non-european-nation-epc-summit-mark-carney-allies-trump

I forgot to put the loose tea in the jug this morning before I put the hot water in. Yesterday I almost forgot to add coconut flakes to the Fiddle Diddles I was making for the staff at Momiji. These days I often can't see things that are right in front of me, chainsaw oil being the latest. It's a bit frightening but I do have a lot on my mind. Big head but little mind. #lifeofbrian

A preview of the podcast I've been working on for over two years. Concept in July of 2024, approval and then lots of work before this special preview was released. Take a look, if you're interested in Japanese Canadian history. Parts of it aren't pretty but these survivors are still willing to share their experiences. #japan #podcast #lifeofbrian https://youtu.be/RWO2OpB13IY?si=kyvWJDntSkgolGcs
