  I read this as trans people feel pretty good about themselves until they accidentally see a picture of themselves. I’m not a selfie person, so I very rarely intend to open the front camera. I might open my phone to take a picture and get a reflection instead, and the surprise is jarring. Also, never been a fan of how I photograph in general. I hear that’s a fairly common experience.
