Is there something wrong with me that I don’t want to go to Staff Fun Day this afternoon because I’ll just get further behind in my work?

Just discovered that my phone doesn’t recognize the phrase “pissing me off.” Must rectify that immediately.

Well hello to you too, Quadratus Lumborum! Please be civil when you’re speaking to me.

When your coworker informs you that your office is hot, but you’re wearing a wool sweater over a cotton sweater and wondering if you can get away with turning on the space heater. #officeairconditioning

@dtm Minnesotan here. I love our new flag. You couldn’t tell what our old one was from a distance, but if you saw it up close you’d realize how crappy it was. But if you get an initiative going in NJ, prepare for a lot of people to double down on the old one, complain that the new one is erasing history and refuse to fly it, etc.

@dtm The cool part of our process was that the state solicited designs from the public, and we got to see the top submissions. My favorite design didn’t win (it had a loon on it), but I really liked being able to see what people submitted.

@dtm well, a state commission chose the design, it wasn’t up for a public vote. But the public was invited to submit designs.

Dear Spider, Sorry I’ve messed up your web two days in a row. I wanted to let you know I walk across that part of the yard every day at least twice to get to and from my car. I admit, cars are evil, and it would be better if I used some other mode of transportation, but I’m kind of stuck with the situation. Anyway, I thought I’d suggest building your web somewhere else so I don’t blunder through it every day and mess up what must be hours of work. Sincerely, Your clumsy human neighbor #spider

How do people talk through Widor‘s toccata being played live on a church organ? It’s a sublime piece of music that stops me in my tracks every time I hear it, but also it’s so dang loud and raucous that I can’t believe people can actually hear each other over it. #widor #music

Just got home from a contentious book club discussion of Stone Yard Devotional. I was shocked by some people’s hatred of the narrator, and based on that, I know who in the group I would not go to if I needed empathy. #bookclub #bookstodon

Here’s a nice little song you can sing to your cats at mealtime (to the tune of Down To The River To Pray): “Oh kitties, let’s go down, come on down, don’t you want to go down. Oh kitties, let’s go down, down to the kitchen to eat.” In my experience, they *do* in fact want to go down to the kitchen to eat. #catstodon #CatsOfMastodon

Learn Lutheran jargon along with me: "Congratulations! You've been entranced!" Unfortunately it doesn't mean that a magician has cast a spell on you, or that you've just been introduced to the most attractive, charming person you've ever encountered. It means you've entered the candidacy process for becoming a Lutheran pastor or deacon. The noun "entrance" has been verbed. Now you know and so do I! #Lutheran #candidacy

Hermes ran outside when I took the trash out. It turns out all he wanted to do was go around to the side of the house and roll in the dead catnip plant. #catstodon #CatsOfMastodon
