  @feditips this is interesting. About the same cost as Twitter but you get to be a mini tyrant. I see the appeal. Don't think it will work long term. (Respectfully). Thanks. It lets anyone start their own server, even non-technical people. The simplicity of a small server means it only costs about $6 per month from a managed hosting company (which does all the technical stuff for you ⧉).

  #introduction hello I'm not sure if this is the right website for me. I had a look at the manual the bloke sent me and it was quite long... Still didn't really get to the part where the rubber hits the road. Is it ok to make sort of meandering discussions like this or is that generally frowned upon. Thanks.   #twittermigration #twitter #tweeting let's make a new "fediverse instance" for a Twitter simulacrum hosted on mastodon. In this way we can encourage many people to move to mastodon and give it a chance at a life. The ecosystem feels stale at the moment. It is reminding me of the forgotten community notice board at the local grocery store. Currently i do not possess the technical ability to do this myself. Appreciate open source support. Thanks.
