  My first time seeing a Hummingbird Hawk Moth. It's little wings buzz fast like a hummingbird's - this photo was taken at 1/2000 of a second but hasn't frozen the wings completely - and they fly sideways and even a little bit backwards at times just like their namesake.   I came across a Kaka using its sharp pointy beak to get in under the bark of this tree. They do this to get at the larvae of wood-boring insects.   We had some time on beautiful Stewart Island, Rakiura, earlier this week. The Oban harbour at Halfmoon Bay hosts a number of seabirds, including albatrosses, muttonbirds (Shearwaters), and terns.
