Reddit keeps pushing on being a closed platform, now rolling out mandatory logging for old.reddit.com - worth pushing for the fediverse again?
Going by comments in the post, the required login is coming in waves, so not all people may notice immediately. Still, as Reddit is strong-arming its way across, maybe worth signaling to people there that the fediverse may be used without an account, so long as there's even one instance that implements logged-out view as the protocol allows it? I don't have access to my account any longer, possibly VPN ban, though I never tried to recover it so I can only guess why mine is lost, else...

Late afternoon in a beach by Piçarras It was cold, windy and dry, making the sky clear. Also the sky hue was lighter in person, but my camera distorts colors a bit. Not something I usually like, but now it gave this slight gradient that I found quite nice. #photography

Are people backing up the fediverse? #fediverse Most fediverse platforms are run by common users, not entities with either monetary, commercial, political or geopolitical interests to keep the platforms alive. But that also means the instances could disappear when money gets tight, if the interest dies out, if there are technical difficulties that are hard to deal with, etc. This brings me to the opening question, are people taking at least what they find relevant from the fediverse, and b...

@heroiclauncher, there is a build of Heroic on Codeberg that hasn't been updated in about a year. Is it an official build of the Heroic Launcher project, or someone's fork?

Threadiverse and microblog, or topicverse and userverse?
Threadiverse and microblog, or topicverse and userverse? #fediverse Something that was bothering me is how comments in microblog platforms usually split and are sorted in the same way as most threadiverse platforms do, just with a smaller scope, but still functionally the same. But also, some threadiverse platforms sort comments rather linearly, similar to board forums. While talking to someone a while back in a conversation more or less in this topic and that I think I accidentally delete...

I mean Epic the storefront, not the umbrella company, as the "company" in my original quote. If we are to be pedantic, there is also Epic the game publisher. Also Rocket League was bought by EGS and turned exclusive after it already had a following, so the numbers for it seem kinda artificial. Though that and Fortnite would also fall in the publisher branch from what I understand. The storefront itself is seldom news-worth, except for the freebies and that time they added a shoppin...

Makes me wonder if it's specific softwares that are pulling the statistics downward, or in general. Also the last 6 months seem rather stable on the graph.

Checked the user's account. In lack of more info, it looks suspicious, as it only has a handful of posts, all article links, and no comments to show it's an actual human. Perhaps it is a bot grinding trust more slowly, to not be burned too quickly. Or maybe it's just an user that seldom logs in here. And borrowing this comment to opinate on the article itself, it still sounds relevant as the technologies the article's OP proposes only got more powerful. Bet now we can even use...
